MEDITATIONS ON HUNTING LOVE – by Gary Smolker, Social Commentator, Values Critic

This picture is so full of feeling.

It hypnotizes  the viewer’s compassion and empathy.

It is as if, her tears are running down the painting and blurring the water colors.

This painting makes me want to shout out,

“Not all storms are destructively hurtful.

“Some storms clear the path to a new and better beginning.

“Take care there will be light after light after darkness.

“Everything is part of a cycle.”

I showed that painting to a film producer-poet last night, who wanted to talk about love.

I met the film producer-poet at a Holiday Party, last night, Saturday night, December 7, 2019, at a holiday party.

The poet film producer told me:

“When a marriage doesn’t fit like a glove it then becomes a disaster.

“When you love somebody their happiness becomes your happiness.

“That is how you know you love them.

If you love somebody they are like a flower in a field.

“If you really love the flower you leave it alone.

“If you are infatuated you pick it. Then you leave it to die.

“Once a flower is picked, it withers and dies.

“Relationships are built to last forever.

“Short turn relationships are short term.

“Ultimately love always lasts.”

After telling me that, she looked at my Driver’s License.

She saw that my birthday is November 5.

She commented,

“You are a Scorpio.

“Scorpios have deep integrity and senses of justice.

“I am a Scorpio too.”

She then told me, “I want to invest my time in good people.”

NOTE:

Water color is an original painting by Kevin P. Nolte.

Kevin P. Nolte is an incredibly sensitive man.

When I praised the spirit of his painting, Kevin told me,

“I work for the Glory of God.”
